Robb Recommends: The Roger Dubuis Bond Street Boutique

Mayfair’s horological gene pool just got deeper.

It was London’s duality – the way this enigmatic megapolis blends reverence for time-honoured traditions with an edgy, contemporary mindset – that inspired them to make the city home to their third European boutique after those in Geneva and Monaco. And, Roger Dubuis’ new London boutique is a microcosm of its urban surrounds, reflecting as it does bold excess with a touch of member’s club opulence (right down to the well-appointed mini-bar in the downstairs client showroom) .

A 43sqm space, directly opposite Richard Mille (light-hearted allusions are made, during Robb Report’s visit, to the potential for World War II style Christmas truces in the dead centre of Bond Street), the boutique is an ergonomic marvel, replete with witty interior design allusions to the interior architecture of mechanical timepieces (see main pic, notably its display units’ hints at skeletonised case structures).

It’s one of only 25 Roger Dubuis boutiques in the world – the brand’s motto is “dare to be rare” – and we recommend horology buffs who haven’t already darkened its doors do so quick-sharp.
