Dunhill aficionados of a certain vintage will recall, in decades gone by, humidors, cigarette cases and penstands emblazoned with red goldfish artwork. Given how much time Dunhill’sCreative Director since mid-2017, Mark Weston, spends scouring the extensive brand archives – and given that the company’s internal motto is “Old guard meets avant-garde” – it’s perhaps no surprise that this new capsule collection blends this Dunhill motif from yesteryear with garments aimed squarely at a contemporary male audience.
Digital print technology has been used to apply the fish emblem to a range of edgy leather bombers, short parkas, sweatshirts and t-shirts, not to mention a new belt bag, sling bag, phone holder and other small leather goods.
