Royal Warrant holder Turnbull & Asser’s Jermyn Street emporium was patronised by, among a plethora of other notables, Sir Winston Churchill, who purchased shirts there to go beneath his Henry Poole chalkstripe three-pieces; in the realms of fiction, another dapper, household-name Briton – James Bond – was also a patron. Ettinger, meanwhile, also has a Royal Warrant thanks to The Prince of Wales being an aficionado of its timeless, beautifully crafted leather goods.
It’s hard to think of a more apt pair to join forces across The Atlantic – which is why we gave a round of hearty applause when we heard that Ettinger would be taking up a USA ‘Flagship Residency’ in Turnbull & Asser’s fabled New York Townhouse in the heart of Manhattan.
Ettinger, which this year celebrates its 85th Anniversary, will offer its entire, extensive portfolio of British-made luxury leather wallets, accessories and bags as well as the recently launched ‘Ettinger Bespoke’ and personalisation services on its leather goods and canvas bags. The canvas bag embroidery personalisation enables customers to add up to five characters on their chosen piece.
“This opportunity – and the coming together of Ettinger and Turnbull & Asser in New York – is undoubtedly one of our most exciting brand and retail collaborations,” comments Robert Ettinger, the leather goods company’s eponymous CEO, who was recently named in Walpole’s ‘top 50’ power list in British luxury for 2019. “We really see Ettinger Bespoke being offered alongside Turnbull & Asser’s bespoke services as an exciting development for both brands as the appeal of bespoke gets ever bigger amongst our discerning customers.”
