Sebastian Vettel, winner four World Drivers’ Championship titles and a former driver for BMW Sauber, Toro Rosso, Red Bull and Ferrari, starting an F1 race in a green Aston Martin will be one of the major spectacles at the Bahrain GP later this month. Another major talking point will also involve Aston Martin: their Official FIA F1 Safety Car, the new Vantage F1® Edition, making its debut.
The production version, a replica of the safety car, is set to be the most sporting Vantage in the range thanks to the tweaks the engineering team have made to the auto-only powertrain, chassis and aerodynamics. Expect 527bhp, 685Nm of torque, a maximum speed of 195mph, acceleration to the tune of 0-62mph in 3.6 seconds and a Nürburgring Nordschleife lap time target of 7 minutes 30 seconds.
Available on both the Coupe and Roadster body styles, it’s available in racing green, jet black or lunar white (all satin or gloss) with four interchangeable interior trim configurations (“lime green”, “spicy red”, “obsidian black” or “wolf grey”).
The new Vantage F1® Edition is on sale now with a recommended retail price from £142,000 in the UK with deliveries scheduled to begin in May 2021.
