Robb Recommends: Rome de Bellegarde’s Collaboration With Ettinger

The history of Anglo-French collaboration - one dominated by Concorde and the Channel Tunnel - just got a nice new chapter.

The fraught history of Anglo-French relations might be riding a rough patch right now (“distancing”, in many households this Christmas, may entail avoidance of the “B” word, too): but you wouldn’t know it, beholding this seductive new collaboration between haute cognac brand Rome de Bellegarde (aka the world’s most expensive cognac) and British leather accessories brand Ettinger.

The limited-edition (50 are available – and selling out fast) luxury gift box contains a 100ml bottle of Rome de Bellegarde’s X.O. cognac, which has been aged for more than 25 years, alongside a 4oz Ettinger flask, wrapped in supple leather in a hue which nods towards Rome de Bellgarde’s signature orange. The flasks are embossed with the collaboration’s logo, and can also be personalised with up to five letters in a gold font.

“We’re truly honoured to share this collaboration with a great craftmanship brand such as Ettinger, who in many ways share a similar story to the Bellegarde family and also display great resilience,” comments David Romuald-Bellegarde Smeralda, owner of Rome de Bellegarde. “This limited-edition gift box was designed with our customers in mind, making sure they get the very best from us.”

Robert Ettinger, CEO of the eponymous leather brand, adds: “We are delighted to have collaborated with the world’s most expensive Cognac on this project and to be part of an amazing Christmas Gift Box set. For those lucky enough to receive one – with only 50 having been made – we’re sure it will bring much joy this Christmas.  It’s always a pleasure to work with another craftmanship brand and hope our flasks continue to be enjoyed long after the XO cognac is finished!”
