Robb Recommends: Sant Francesc Hotel Singular x La Nit De L’art

Palma De Mallorca’s renowned contemporary art show will take place from 19th – 21st September.

It’s already a destination of choice for aesthetes, thanks to a vast collection of contemporary art and photography gracing its walls (see main picture, above): now, the Sant Francesc Hotel Singular, Palma, has sealed its place on the European art map with the announcement of a partnership to celebrate the 23rd annual event of La Nit De L’Art.

The event will showcase Mallorca’s dynamic contemporary art scene by moonlight. Around 30,000 art lovers from the world over are expected to take to Palma’s cobbled streets, along which galleries, museums and art studios will be offering complimentary entry,

private tours, drink receptions, open table discussions and will brand new exhibitions over the three days. One major highlight will include Galeria Pelaires, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year and is set to unveil five special pieces of art by Brazilian artist Lucas Simões at Sant Francesc, exclusively to Nit De L’Art attendees.

This year, five-star, boutique hotel Sant Francesc is La Nit de L’Art’s only hotel partner involved in the event. The hotel’s neoclassical building – it’s a former Mallorcan mansion, built in 1860 and restored in 2015  – will make for an apt setting for Simões work, which is heavily influenced by his architectural and design background.

Sant Francesc guests will be welcomed by a specially commissioned masterpiece by Spanish artist Josep Maria Riera i Aragó and can enjoy artwork by painter and sculptor Guillem Nadal and Catalonian artist Jordi Alcaraz. Pieces by Dominica Sánchez, Jordi Alcaráz, Bruno Olle, Miguel Macaya, M.A. Campano, J.M. Broto, A. Alzamora and E. Arbós will be displayed throughout the hotel’s public areas and guest rooms.
