A Seasonal Sweetener: The Lanesborough’s Christmas Afternoon Tea

They know how to turn the festive factor up to 11 at The Lanesborough Hotel’s Michelin-starred Céleste restaurant: especially with Head Pastry Chef, Gabriel Le Quang in charge of reimagining Wintry classics such as Chocolate Christmas bauble, hazelnut snowball, Mont Blanc chestnut and blackcurrant, pear and almond tartelette and traditional Lebkuchen, all served alongside homemade scones, fruit preserves and clotted Devonshire cream.

The Festive Afternoon (from £55 per person, £65 with a glass of Irroy Champagne) – which takes place daily between 3.15pm and 5.15pm until 30thhDecember – also includes Christmassy sandwiches such as egg mayonnaise on turmeric bread, grilled vegetables, goat cheese on beetroot bread, turkey cranberry on cranberry bread, salmon with wasabi mayonnaise on matcha bread and brisket beef horseradish on granary bread.

Visit on 8thor 9th December and a choir will be regaling diners with traditional carols.
