The most festive news we’ll post this week, it ain’t. But this new co-branded capsule collection by Vilebrequin and HIV charity (RED) is not only great for those who are heading to warmer climes over Christmas – it benefits an excellent charity, the Global Fund to fight AIDS, too.
Vilebrequin purists will be drawn to the Moorea Swim Trunk (£195, main pic), which comes in a fast-drying cotton-polyester and has an elastic waistband with drawstring and three pockets. The T-shirt (£85), meanwhile, is in classic European style and made of soft-touch polyamide fabrics. (RED)’s signature deep crimson logo is incorporated into all three items, and $15 of every Swim Trunk and $10 of every T-shirt and Beach Bag goes directly to the Global Fund to support HIV programs in sub-Saharan Africa.
The launch coincides with the lead-up to World AIDS Day on 1ast December. “We’ve been deeply inspired by the power of the (RED) movement,” says Vilebrequin CEO Roland Herlory. “Now we hope to contribute in our own way by encouraging our passionate consumers to help us effect change with every purchase. Not one of us should rest until AIDS is history.”
